It's a new year and a new you. Time once again to test your mettle by participating in the... 12th Annual Manly Men Wild Women Hike the Hills
There's nothing complicated about it. Just show up at Tandy Hills Natural Area, the coolest green space in the inner city (plus we're celebrating our 60th anniversary!) Our goal is to hike border-to border-to-border-to-border, tracing the steel cable that defines the 225+ acre boundary. Your rewards include but are not restricted to:
- You will lose at least 2 pounds. (They don't call it Tandy HILLS for nothing!)
- See sections of the park known only to a few hawks and a couple of scrawny coyotes.
- Celebrate the 61st anniversary of the coolest park in Fort Worth.
- It won't kill you but will make you stronger (for the upcoming Prairie Posse)
- Work up a good appetite for lunch
NEW for 2021 > > > The 12th Annual, Manly Men Wild Women New Years Day Hike for 2021 will include newly acquired, Broadcast Hill land that will cross one of the largest open prairies in FW proper. The entire route will be clearly marked from start to finish.
Due to the Covid-19 virus, we are doing things different this time. Rather than gather together at an appointed time and hiking as a group, you are invited to take the hike at any time you wish on New Years Day weekend. That is, from Friday, January 1st to Sunday, January 3rd. We discourage large groups hiking together. Please be safe out there.
We will use the honor system in 2021 to award Cerrtificates of Completion. To qualify, send us a photo of yourself at a scenic spot of your choosing. Be sure to include your name and send to: <email@example.com>
