Happy Winter Solstice

December 21, 2017

As 2017 comes to a close, the winter landscape of soothingly muted colors at Tandy Hills Natural Area provides a place for quiet reflection and recreation in the heart of a bustling city. Thirteen years of passionate, volunteer effort by Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area has made sure it stays that way……And thirteen years of your vital financial support has helped us polish this urban diamond.

Can you make a donation prior to the end-of-the-year to support prairie and trail restoration in 2018 and qualify for a tax deduction?

Here are a few highlights of our 2017 accomplishments to inspire you:

• Tandy Hills was honored as a Lone Star Legacy Park in 2017 due to FOTHNA's efforts

• Our Award-winning Kids on the Prairie outdoor education program notched year #7 hosting hundreds of kids to Tandy Hills

• The 8th annual Brush Bash and the ongoing Prairie Posse cleared large areas of invasive species from the park

• A Pavilion Design Competition yielded and innovative design and a Best of Award 2017 from FW Weekly (construction starting soon)

• PrairieSky / StarParty, DFW Day of Yoga, Botanical Society of America & America's Grassland Conference introduced hundreds of new visitors

• Tandy Hills became part of the Great Texas Wildlife Trail in 2017

We couldn't do this work without you.
